Frequently asked questions
Do Identium UHF RFID products work on India's approved frequency band?
Yes. Our UHF readers and tags operate in the 865–868 MHz band designated for RFID use in India under the 2021 WPC short-range-device rules, so they work across the country and avoid the interference and compliance issues of hardware tuned only for other regions.
Are Identium products WPC approved for use in India?
Some are, by model. WPC Equipment Type Approval — the requirement for radio equipment sold in India — covers four of our reader models and the RUCA9 antenna; the models are listed under "What certifications does Identium hold?" below. Approvals are model-specific, so a model not on that list is not covered by them; ask us for the position on any other model in writing before you specify it. Passive tags, labels, cards and wristbands have no transmitter and need no WPC approval.
What read range can I expect from Identium UHF tags and readers?
Read range depends on the tag type, antenna, reader power and the surface the tag is mounted on, so it varies by application — short range for cards and wristbands, longer range for fixed asset and inventory tags. Share your use case and we will recommend the right tag and antenna combination.
What certifications does Identium hold?
Two, and both are model-specific. BIS: registration under the BIS Compulsory Registration Scheme against IS 13252 (Part 1):2010 / IEC 60950-1:2005, renewed to 4 April 2028, covering ten reader models — 103UDR, CX1000, CX1500N, CX806T, HLR20, IF9A, IHZ4, MUBR01, R58H, UBR12. WPC: Equipment Type Approval on the CX1500N, IF9A, IHZ4, MUBR01 readers and the RUCA9 antenna. The IF9A also carries an IP68 test report from an NABL-accredited laboratory. We would rather list them precisely than imply a longer set: we do not hold CE, FCC, RoHS, REACH, ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 certification. If your market or tender requires any of those, treat it as a real gap and ask every supplier for the certificate and its scope.
Is there a minimum order quantity, and can products be customised?
We manufacture a full range of UHF tags, cards, wristbands, antennas and readers and support customisation such as printing, encoding and form factor. For specific MOQs and options on your chosen product, contact us with your requirements and we will confirm what is available.
What is the lead time for an order?
Tags typically have a turnaround of 5 to 10 days. Lead times for readers, printers and customised items vary with configuration and quantity, so we confirm a delivery timeline when you place your order.
Do you provide SDKs and integration support for your readers?
Our UHF readers follow standard RFID protocols and integrate with common middleware and software platforms. For drivers, SDK availability or integration guidance for a specific reader model, contact our team and we will share the relevant resources.
How do I order, and do you ship across India?
