Choosing the Right Animal Tag for Your Herd
As an RFID animal and cattle ear tag manufacturer in India, we help buyers match tag type to the actual use case rather than picking a frequency at random. For close-range, one-animal-at-a-time reads at the milking parlour or crush, LF 125 kHz ear tags paired with a handheld are a robust, well-proven choice; where you want faster reads across a group or at a gateway, UHF (865–867 MHz) covers more distance, typically a few metres depending on antenna and animal orientation. Retention matters as much as electronics: our two-piece ear tags are moulded for a secure male-female lock and applied with a standard applicator, and each tag can be laser-numbered and barcoded so visual and electronic IDs always agree.
For government and dairy programmes such as Pashu Aadhaar, tags can carry a 12-digit animal ID that ties into INAPH-style records for breeding, vaccination and subsidy tracking. Every batch is tested in-house before dispatch, with a 5–10 day turnaround on customised orders. To scope a project properly, look at our animal identification RFID tags, RFID livestock tracking and pair them with the right handheld reader; our cattle ear tag and Pashu Aadhaar guide explains the workflow end to end.
