RFID Supplier for the Middle East and GCC

If you are looking for an RFID supplier for the Middle East, the first thing to check is not a catalogue but a frequency. Identium Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd builds and tests RFID hardware at our own factory in New Delhi, India, and works with overseas buyers as an RFID manufacturer and exporter. The point that matters for GCC buyers is technical: the Gulf states and much of the wider Middle East are generally understood to use a UHF allocation in the 865-868 MHz range — the band our hardware is already built around, since India’s licence-exempt band is 865-867 MHz. Where that holds for your destination country, it is a tuning question, not a redesign. Allocations and power limits are set nationally and revised over time, so confirm current rules with your own regulator — the UAE’s TDRA, for example.

Why the band fit matters commercially

UHF RFID is not one global band. Hardware built for the 902-928 MHz plans used in North America behaves differently at the lower end of the 860-960 MHz range, and a mismatch shows up as shorter read range, patchy captures and non-compliant installations. Commercially, a buyer in an 865-868 MHz market usually specifies from our standard designs rather than paying for a re-tuned variant. Passive UHF tags are mostly broadband designs anyway; the region-critical item is the reader, an active transmitter that ships configured to one region profile. We ask for the destination country before quoting, and confirm the reader’s region profile in writing. Stated plainly: we do not hold, or claim, type approval in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or any other Gulf market. Our verified approvals are Indian.

Two applications with proven deployments

Jewellery retail. Gold and jewellery retail is prominent in several Middle Eastern markets, and it is a vertical where RFID tends to pay back quickly. How an export enquiry runs

  1. Send the specification, destination country and quantity. Surface, environment, read range and size are enough.
  2. We confirm the band configuration and quote. Frequency, chip, material and finish are settled before pricing.
  3. Samples. Test on your own assets, in your own environment.
  4. Production. Artwork and encoding signed off, then scheduled.

On volume we work in qualitative tiers rather than a published MOQ: a sample lot to validate read performance, a first production run once the specification is settled, and larger volumes where a dedicated tool or artwork run pays for itself. Terms are agreed in writing, per order.

Compliance, honestly

We hold BIS certification, and WPC approval for our UHF readers and antennas on India’s 865-867 MHz band. We do not hold CE, RED, FCC, RoHS, REACH or ISO 9001, and we will not imply otherwise. Passive tags, cards and wristbands are backscatter devices with no transmitter of their own, so in most jurisdictions radio type-approval regimes generally apply to the reader rather than the tag — but other obligations can still attach to tags: material and substance regimes such as RoHS and REACH in the EU, packaging and labelling rules, and the importer’s own duties. Battery-assisted, active and BLE devices do contain transmitters and are treated differently — see our guide to CE and FCC requirements for RFID tags. Frequently asked questions

Will your RFID hardware work on Middle East and GCC frequencies?

In most cases the band fit is straightforward. The GCC and much of the wider Middle East are generally understood to use a UHF RFID allocation in the 865-868 MHz range, which overlaps the band our hardware is designed around — India's licence-exempt band is 865-867 MHz. That means tags, readers and antennas are usually configured rather than redesigned. We will not publish a megahertz figure for your specific country, because national allocations and power limits are set by each administration and revised from time to time. Confirm the current band and power limit with your own regulator — the TDRA in the UAE, or the equivalent authority in your market — and send us the destination country with your enquiry so we can state in writing what we will supply and how the reader will be configured.

Do you already have customers, offices or a distributor in the Gulf?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Identium manufactures in New Delhi, sells across India and exports; we do not have a verified customer base, distributor, office or warehouse in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or any other GCC market, and any supplier who tells you they do should be able to name references. What we do have is a factory, an in-house R&D and design team with 10+ years of RFID experience, deployments in India across jewellery retail, industrial laundry, asset tracking, libraries, parking and railways, and an English-speaking engineering team in a time zone that overlaps Gulf business hours. Enquiries are handled directly by us rather than through intermediaries.

Do you hold CE, FCC or GCC type approval for your products?

No. Our verified approvals are Indian: Identium is BIS certified, and our UHF readers and antennas are WPC-approved for India's 865-867 MHz band. We do not hold CE, RED, FCC, RoHS, REACH or ISO 9001, and we will not describe our products as carrying marks we do not have. As orientation rather than legal or regulatory advice: passive tags, labels, cards and wristbands are backscatter devices with no transmitter of their own, so radio type-approval regimes such as the EU's RED and US FCC equipment authorisation generally apply, in most jurisdictions, to the reader or interrogator rather than to the passive tag. Other obligations can still attach to tags — material and substance regimes such as RoHS and REACH in the EU, packaging and labelling rules, and the importer's own duties in the destination market — and battery-assisted, active or BLE devices do contain transmitters and are treated differently. Which documentation we can provide is agreed per order, and you should confirm your destination market's requirements with your own compliance adviser or the national regulator.

What is your minimum order quantity, and how long do custom tags take?

We work in qualitative tiers rather than a published MOQ. A sample lot comes first, so you can validate read performance on your own assets and in your own environment. A first production run follows once the specification is settled, and larger volumes are where a dedicated tool or a bespoke artwork run starts to pay for itself — we will tell you where your quantity sits once we have seen the specification.
