Identium’s RFID school attendance solution records every student’s in and out times automatically — no roll call, no queues at a register, and parents informed by SMS the moment their child arrives or leaves.
How it works
Each student carries an RFID smart card or wears a wristband. Readers at the school gate detect students as they walk through — long-range UHF needs no tapping — and the attendance record updates instantly, with optional SMS to the parent or guardian at each stage: boarding the school bus, entering the premises and reaching the pick-up point. Bus-fleet deployments combine RFID with GPS tracking.
Beyond attendance
The same card can run the whole campus — library issue and return, canteen payments, lockers and access control. See our education solutions for the complete smart-campus picture, and RFID time & attendance systems for staff.

Planning an RFID attendance system for your school
A dependable RFID attendance system for a school in India begins with matching the credential to the pupils. Rugged PVC RFID cards suit older students who can be trusted with a printed ID, while soft silicone or Tyvek wristbands are harder for younger children to lose or damage. Order a modest buffer of spares — replacements are inexpensive and keep the register complete when a tag goes astray.
Gate placement matters more than most schools expect. At a busy morning entrance several students cross the threshold at once, so antenna angle, mounting height and read range all need scoping for the actual gateway width; our project scoping guide walks through this. Identium’s UHF hardware is WPC-approved for India’s delicensed 865–867 MHz band and BIS certified, and every gate reader is tested in-house before dispatch.
Finally, plan the integration. Attendance data should flow into your existing ERP or school-management platform through our software and SDK. For a component list and an indicative, volume-dependent quote, contact our team.
